I love my new WONAP blanket!!! I previously ordered twin size 15 lb blanket, but it felt too heavy on me. I kept waking up all night to the sensation of part of my body suddenly not being covered, and due to the wadded up king comforter from my half of the bed between my husband and me that I didn't need to use. I probably would have gotten used to the weight itself had the blanket stayed in place, and it was soooooo very comfy and soft, so I loved it, but due to the disarray of our bed using it, I had to return it. There is a very much needed king size for couples, or even larger adults in height or width so that the blanket stays in place. Couples need to be able to be under the same blanket in order to be comfortable at night, not use separate blankets. So, I searched thoroughly for an affordable king sized blanket that was made as well as the twin I previously purchased, with the same smooth and cool material and quality of workmanship. Below are my observations which may help others new to weighted blankets:BLANKET WEIGHT - I am small framed and short, but 170 lbs, and that means I was supposed to have a blanket with 15-17 lbs of weight. So using a twin, a good amount of weight on my body would be between 12-14 lbs subtracting the weight in the areas not covering my body. So knowing that, I had to figure out what weight of a king blanket to order. If I thought the 15 lb twin felt a bit heavy, then maybe a 20 lb king would reduce the amount on my body on my side of the bed to around 8 lbs which is a few lbs less than the twin. However, the heavy weight of the twin blanket was primarily due to the fact that it never stayed in place and I was always having to straighten it over my body causing me to have to heft the weight around while lying down and dealing with the initial first few minutes of being aware of the weight (doesn't last long.) So then I wondered if I should get a 30 lb King to assure me about 11-13 lbs of weight would be on my side of the bed to be equivalent to the twin. That's a 10 lb difference in choosing and I was worried the 30 lb weight would be too heavy. This particular blanket didn't come in 20 lbs, so I was delighted that they offered a 25 lb blanket. Boy am I glad I didn't get the 20 lb one. This one doesn't feel as heavy as I thought it would, and I think only about 9-10 lbs of weight is actually on me, less than the twin, which ended up not being enough! I was right in my conjecture that the twin was indeed the perfect weight for me had it stayed in place. Therefore, to get nearer to that, I would have to buy a 30 lb king blanket. Because of the spread and weight on the edges, it wouldn't be too heavy at all, but would actually deliver at least 12 lbs directly to my body - perfect. Around 10-20% of the weight will be wasted in the areas that don't cover our bodies, and 1/2 of the remaining would be on each side of the bed (theoretically.) My husband isn't used to weighted blankets yet so my recommendation to go heavier spooked him. He thinks it's heavy enough, LOL, but he isn't complaining either!!! He has restless rhythmic leg syndrome (wife-diagnosed, lol) and a huge snoring problem. Ever since we started using this blanket, I haven't woken to his snores or his repetitive leg movements. I don't think he has moved his legs at all! Maybe I can get him to switch to a 30 lb soon. :)BLANKET SIZE: Most of the King sized selections are way too small of a size, 80x87. That's because they think having any of the blanket go past the edge of the bed is a wasted weight. However, if you order 5 lbs heavier in a larger size, then that itty bitty weight hanging off the edge of the bed actually holds the blanket in place! This WONAP blanket was 88x92, and we turned it so that the longer side goes sideways on our bed, side to side - this allows for about 4-5" to hang over each edge of our bed, and about 8" extra length at the foot, great for a tall man like my husband. While you don't want a lot of the blanket to hang over the edge of the bed and waste too much of that bead weight, having too little or none causes more movement of the blanket along with your own body movements. That little bit on this WONAP size is perfect, holding it in place all night so that our turning was without affecting the position of the blanket, and that is sooooo comfortable. Each turn or movement of my body would hit a nice cool spot of the blanket, so I never overheated.BLANKET MATERIAL and MAINTENANCE: The bamboo viscose is indeed supremely soft and cool. MUCH cooler than cotton!!! It's true! Since I don't want to miss out on the soft and cool feeling of the blanket next to my skin, we currently have a sheet over the top of it so that it won't get dirty by our kitties or doggy. But we have to make sure we go to bed without dirt or sweat on our bodies if we want to keep the side touching us clean, therefore a duvet will help. I can wash this blanket in a commercial washing machine, (you can wash the lighter ones in your home machine, but anything above 15 lbs might be too much for residential machines...) so that will be infrequent. Therefore I will purchase a duvet as soon as I can save up, but it MUST be one made with the same bamboo viscose, on both sides! While the minky covers are indeed so luxuriously soft, (bought a queen blanket with one of those for my son and used it one night to test out the weight,) I had more issues feeling hot with that kind. The blanket itself is 400 TC Cotton which doesn't do quite as good of a job as bamboo with cooling, and I think the bamboo minky material blocks what little the comforter was doing. ?? Not sure if the cotton is that much worse or if the minky material is somewhat to blame too. So I won't be going for the minky unless I buy a throw for the couch.PRICE: Some King size offerings are a bit larger than this one, but they are way above my price range. This one was a very good deal for the same or better quality, and the PERFECT measurement. Goldilocks measurement really, not too big and not too small. Reasonable prices are the products that get our business, period. This has helped give me some of the best sleep I have ever had. It also keeps me surprisingly cool while sleeping.I absolutely love this I have never slept so well. I also recommend getting some bamboo sheets it’s total blessI really enjoy this blanket, it's soft and seems like it's durable. I got the 25lb I believe, so it's definitely heavy, but I notice it does help with my pain days.I’ve had this blanket it a couple of weeks. I got it to help with my restless leg syndrome. The blanket does help with improving my sleep and the weight distribution is very even. The only reason that I left off 1 star is because I’ve only had this blanket a couple of weeks and one of the seams is coming out. I will be contacting the company about this. I will update this review after contacting the company. The blanket is comfy and has a nice weight to it. It’s soft and it has a cool feeling so it’s not really hot under it. I really like the blanket unfortunately it has one big cons, at least for me.The blanket it doesn’t have a cover protector like other one so when you need to wash it you need to be really careful. They don’t recommend using the washer so be aware! It could damage it. And definitely no dryer. As it is heavy it’s hard to hang it to dry as it weights almost everything down. I had to use 4 stool so I could drape it around them and keep it open and flat so it could air-dry in my kitchen. It could take a long time as you want to be sure that the filling is completely dried.I love this weighted 7 lbs is perfect I've been sleeping all night long I love love love this Blanket it also stays cool all night my girl dog loves it ❤️ ? ♥️I did a bit of research on weighted blankets before deciding on this one; I got both the blanket and the duvet after reading that the blanket was a challenge to wash, and that it was easier to just wash the duvet and then wash the blanket itself much less often.I bought it for two reasons, 1) to help with waking/staying asleep at night due to anxiety and 2) because I was looking for a cool summer blanket to go on top of a sheet. This sounded like it would fit the bill for both. Our bedroom, which is upstairs, is really hot in the summer compared to the rest of the house (no dual zone a/c) so I always go for "cool" materials like bamboo and rayon. The material the blanket and duvet is made of is a very nice quality, and the color is absolutely lovely and as pictured--a steel blue-gray--and by itself, it would be cooling. But as a whole, I did NOT find the weighted blanket itself to be cooling. I kicked it off a number of times this summer before deciding it'll be best to bring it back in the fall. That said, I'm sure compared to other fabrics used in these blankets--cotton, fleece, minky, etc--this material IS much cooler. But in warm weather, this blanket doesn't work for me.As far as it working as a weighted blanket for anxiety, etc., I think it does help. I weigh about 118 lb and got the 15-lb one, and it was just the right amount. You actually DO get under the thing and feel yourself relax. I've always liked being covered and feel more secure when I sleep or nap, so the concept made sense to me. When it was cooler, I did find that when I woke up, this blanket helped me fall back asleep more quickly and soundly. And I seemed to stay asleep longer--but it didn't suddenly help me sleep through the night with no waking issues at all. So far, no issues with the beads leaking and they are distributed well due to the quilted stitching. So, my 4- vs. 5-star rating is mainly due to the fact that I don't think you can call this (or maybe any) weighted blanket as a whole "cooling," especially in the summer, if that makes sense. The fabric it's made of is definitely breathable and cool compared to other options. It's a really nice-looking and nicely made blanket, and I'm happy with it and got I got this particular one. I do like it better without the duvet, but again, it make sense to get one to avoid washing it frequently. I haven't yet so I'll have to see how that goes!
